Tasting at Novelty Hill

A review of tasting we did at Novelty Hill Winery last Saturday (10-31-09)

Our first wine was Novelty Hill 2007 Stillwater Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc $18. Its had aroma and flavors were of citrus, grass and mineral . Would make a great food wine with seafood or perhaps blue cheese.

Januik 2006 Columbia Valley Merlot, $25: Had flavors and aromas of: Blackberry, pepper, black fruits, smoke, cedar and tar.

Novelty Hill 2007 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, $25: Aromas and flavors of; cassis, smoke, and pepper. and vanilla.

and my favorite of the day: Novelty Hill 2005 Columbia Valley Syrah, $22, a steal! With aromas and flavors of smoke, berry, tar and pepper. Do I see a pattern here?
