Cabernet at Quinn’s

I finally had the chance to go Quinn’s on Capital Hill for dinner and a glass of wine.

Boy was the menu inventive! I had the “Wild Boar Sloppy Joes” and it was very good, not like the kind you had when you were a kid. My husband had the fish and chips and those where great too, the fish was definitely fresh and the mayo homemade!

To accompany it, I had a ’05 Cabernet Sauvignon, Brampton¬† from South Africa. I haven’t tried too many wines from S. Africa, so I was intrigued by the offering. Plus, they let me sample it along with a Rhone, so it was a safe decision. I was fantastic, with aroma’s of black berry, cassis, leather and earthy mushrooms. The flavors where similar with mocha, dark fruits, leather and black berry.

And the service was top notch as well!
